DeepSeek Harness talks to MCP servers through plugins — there is no separate mcpServers config file to babysit. Wiring one server in is a one-time paste (the setup walkthrough covers it), and picking which servers are worth your time is the curated best-of list. This collection is the day-two job: the panels, consoles and connectors that list every registered server on one screen, hot-reload edits without a restart, run health diagnostics and keep OAuth tokens in order. Since every server registers as a plugin instance, a management panel is itself a plugin — install it like any other.

The official client only answers /mcp in chat. Panels turn that into a standing screen: server lists, per-server tool listings, health diagnostics and JSON import that hot-reloads without restarting dsh.

The official mechanism: no mcpServers key — every server is a plugin instance
Coming from Claude Code or Claude Desktop, you expect an mcpServers block in a JSON config. DeepSeek Harness doesn't have one — and that single fact explains what every panel on this page actually does.
A server is a plugin, registered like any other
Each MCP server mounts as a plugin instance through the same flow as every other plugin: dsh plugin add, or an entry in cordis.patch.yml. The mcpServers block you'd paste elsewhere becomes a plugin entry here — which is why the setup guide reads like a field mapping from Claude Code/Codex configs.
What that means day to day
Enabling a server is enabling its plugin entry; deleting it is dsh plugin remove. A management panel is just a friendlier face writing those same entries — often with hot reload, so you skip the restart the manual edit costs. The official /mcp command stays as the no-panel fallback.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need an MCP manager panel at all — doesn't dsh already manage servers?
It does, minimally. Every MCP server registers as a plugin instance, so the built-in plugin manager can enable or disable one, and the /mcp command reports status in chat. A panel adds the server-level view on top: one screen listing every server, health diagnostics, per-server tool lists, JSON import and edits that hot-reload without restarting dsh.
Does a panel replace the official /mcp command?
No — it wraps it. dsh-mcp-panel, for example, builds its console around the official client's /mcp command and adds trial calls and health checks. Keep the command as your fallback when no panel is installed.
Can I run two management panels at the same time?
You can, but pick one primary. Two panels write the same profile patch entries and both add a settings page, so you get duplicate views and, on conflicting edits, whoever wrote last wins — the same advice as running two memory plugins.
Will these panels manage my stdio and HTTP servers?
Most handle both stdio and Streamable HTTP servers; the connector line adds OAuth2/PKCE logins and cross-connection tool search. Each block below notes what its plugin covers — check before you install.
Which MCP manager should I start with?
dsh-skill-mcp-panel if you manage skills too (the biggest install base at ★150). dsh-mcp-panel if you want diagnostics and trial calls around the official client. Any of the dsh-mcp-manager family if a clean Settings page is enough.
