A task board is the cheapest way to stop treating an agent like a chat window. Instead of remembering which of your six sessions is doing what, you read columns: queued, running, waiting for you. The dsh boards below differ on one decision that matters more than looks — whether the agent claims work from the board, or you dispatch work at it from the board.

Why it matters now
Three genuinely different shapes, not three skins: a native local board, a human-cards → agent-executes → human-reviews loop, and a keyboard-first surface for driving several agents at once. Choose by how you want to hand work off, not by star count.
The board earns its keep at the review step. cloader/dsh-taskboard hands the agent 10 taskboard_* tools, runs each task in its own session with a per-task model or preset, and can isolate it in a Git worktree — so "done" means a diff you can actually read.
The biggest project here is not native. chuspeeism/dashi-taskboard (★3,175) embeds an already-installed Codex Taskboard runtime into the dsh sidebar instead of implementing a dsh-native board. Fine if you live in both ecosystems; wrong if you wanted one fewer runtime to maintain.

Frequently asked questions
Is a task board the same as the todo list inside my session?
No. A session todo list is one agent's scratchpad and disappears with the session. A board plugin persists tasks across sessions and projects, so you can see what is queued, what is running and what is waiting on your review — and let a different agent pick up a card later.
Can the agent move cards on the board itself?
On the boards built for that: shengsheng90/dsh-taskboard and cloader/dsh-taskboard both let agents claim cards and report back, and isolat-3k/dsh-kanban dispatches ready tasks to dsh subagents and moves Ready → Running by itself. Display-only boards exist too — you drag those by hand.
Do any of these need a server or an extra service?
None of the picks do. shengsheng90/dsh-taskboard stores locally in SQLite, cloader/dsh-taskboard describes itself as zero-config with no extra service, and ttmouse/dsh-taskboard is a local-first issue board. The exception is chuspeeism/dashi-taskboard, which requires the Codex Taskboard runtime to be installed already — it embeds rather than reimplements.
Which one should I install first?
If you want a board you dare hand to an agent, start with shengsheng90/dsh-taskboard. If your real problem is reviewing several agent runs at once, start with isomoes/ikanban (keyboard-first, with diff review and project-aware navigation) or alpacachen/dsh-kanban (a simple board shared by people and agents).
